So Long! Farwell! *I don't know the words to this part so just sing the tune*Good Bye!

Well this week marks a change in my life. I've decided to wear white shirts the rest of my life. It just makes everything easier if you don't have to think about it! But then a friend send me this picture (included in the attachments) so I've decided I'll give it a year with the white shirts and then I'll switch. No, I'm just kidding (except for the picture part). But we switch Mission Presidents this coming week, so that's really exciting!! President and Sister O'Bryant will be followed by President and Sister Olsen who arrive in Denmark (after leaving it earlier this past week) on the 29th.

As for the weekly news:

Monday was pretty wet and uneventful. We had no time to do Weekly Planning last week, so that took most of our work time, (desværre). And then it was also super rainy for half of the day. So we did some stop by's and then played card games and talked for most of the day. It was pretty fun! Ældste Moulton is awesome, so we enjoyed it.

Tuesday was our last Zone Conference with the O'Bryants! (Along with one of our Assistants who is going home for medical reasons. So now, Ældste Saviano, my mission step-father, is the new Assistant) It was a really cool Zone Conference where everyone was completely involved and trying to get everything out of it that they could. President O'Bryant gave a training about Justice and Mercy to explain the effect of the Atonement. It was really good! During lunch, we had some musical numbers, including a Cup Song flash mob! Two Sisters had written Danish (and English) lyrics that we all sang. It was really cool!

Wednesday got wrecked. It was raining/misting all day! We had an hour in the morning where we helped a bit with a member who is moving. Her name is Kirsten. She's an older lady who is just waiting to get her mission call, so she's progressively moving to leave for that. (house to apartment to storage). Then we went knocking for a while and just got soaked! There were also a lot of people who wouldn't open the door because it was so wet. So we also did some contacting previous investigators and such. We talked to one lady who was just seemed incredibly sad! We really just testified about the peace that Christ can bring. It was a very solemn and touching experience! Hopefully she reads in the Book of Mormon!

Thursday was National Greenland Day! And we did a ton of contacting on the gågade! We had a couple fun conversations including two younger girls that were really excited about Mormons Bog. We also had a lesson with René! We just really buckled down on our expectations and the reason why Mormons Bog is important to us today! In the end, he committed to come to church and read a specific chapter before Sunday! It was a super effective lesson!

Friday was a long day of work! I frankly enjoyed it though! We were out contacting in the morning, had lunch and some language study with Hans Christian (member), which was really fun, and then knocking! We went out to knock around Mille, who I thought we could stop by because we hadn't heard from her. As we rode past, she was standing outside! So we stopped and she explained that she's been having quite a lot going on, including her car which was currently being towed as we stood there talking with her. But we got back in contact! Then, after about 4 hours of knocking doors, we met Karen! We taught her about Mormons Bog and she said she'd read and was interested in coming to church! Sadly, she'll be on vacation for two weeks, but we have an appointment set!

Saturday was Sankt Hans Aften! Basically, it's because Denmark really wants the Salem Witch Trials to be remembered. They literally just have giant bonfires (some on boats or on the beach) with fake witches burned on the top of them. I'm not really sure where that one came from... But we did some good weekly planning, contacting on the gågade (where Christmas music was playing for whatever reason), and then some knocking! We had a lesson with Ezekiel, which was good and awkward. He understood and learned a lot more than last time! But we also were trying to explain the importance of authority to baptize and it felt like we just ruined his evening over Google Translate... But he still really wanted to come to church the next day, so I hope he was alright. During our dinner hour, we biked over to Palmstranded to try and watch the bonfires, but we came late and basically everything was burned. It was still really pretty on the beach though!

Sunday rolled around! Ezekiel, sadly, texted and said he was sick so we should pick him up. So we just biked over to church ourselves. And then René came!! And then Jan too!! Jan is a former member who is ´coming back´ but he's missed church for a couple weeks. But René seemed to like church as well! Guest class was a little weird with a visiting Religion Professor, but overall I think it went well! After church, we ate at the Toft's house. They're a part of the overall Kristensen family, and Erik Toft is our Mission Leader. They're just cool! So that was really fun! We also went knocking that evening, which was good too.

My spiritual thought at the end of such a long email, is simple in theory but hard in practice. Hold Ud til Enden or Endure to the End. On Friday, we were out working all day! Usually we have something else going on, but we had nothing else to break up the day. It was fun, got boring, and then annoying. But then I just decided to enjoy it, and it literally made a world of difference!! We had been knocking door after door where the most interested people were of Nordic faith or believed that humans were cancer on this world of animals. After a really long time, we looked at our watches, and it had been 45 minutes. (That is a pretty short time in a finding block, just as translation from Danish.) I said something to the effect of "that means we need time to teach someone" and literally two doors later, we taught a lesson! Truly, God knows what he needs you to do, but you will be prepared to do it if you are willing to push through the trials with patience in order to get to the results! So be more patient in your endurance this week! It'll come! (Also, for a bonus Spiritual Thought: Compare all of Alma 17 to a missionary, it's pretty accurate!)

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Aarhus Zone Conference-June 2018

 Taken from Sis O'Bryant's blog...

As we arrive in Aarhus, we are always greeted with missionaries with huge smiles.  We all look forward to reuniting every six weeks.  President and I actually see and train missionaries in-between, but it's always wonderful to be together.  Zone Conference was on The four cornerstones for progressing investigators, Final hopes for our missionaries, and the Atonement- Mercy vs. Justice.

Boxes of Book of Mormons for each apartment
First time I wasn't allowed to enter the lunch area  beforehand but I sent my camera down with elders to take pictures...always decorated so creatively...
Yes, this is actually one of the mission bikes.

 Three assistants for two weeks.

 White handbook training
 Birthday celebrations

Our faithful and dedicated senior Missionaries
Traditional "Big" cookies for the break...
Sharing a picture of our other family...Goodbyes are never easy.  So we just invite everyone to visit us.  We have built a pizza oven to feed missionaries, and have a deep freeze waiting to fill with pizza crusts.  We committed them all to visit after their missions...even the two cousins from Australia.
We asked the missionaries what they were doing on September 16th, the day President and I received our calling and began to prepare...LOL
This may be my favorite training President has ever given...finding balance in the Atonement by accepting the law of Justice but developing equal faith in the Lord's Grace and Mercy.  It was a beautiful message<3

Our final message while holding each other up...
We just love our mission!  (Every mission needs an Elder Blocker...) A wonderful gift and a place for all our missionaries to sign.
A wonderful gift and a place for all our missionaries to sign.

Elders Owen and Saviano and Sisters Uluave and Matheson sang "God Be With You".  Elder Owen sang the first verse as a solo.  The hymn was beautiful.  Sister Warren accompanied beautifully on the piano.
 A wonderful gift...
A priceless gift with a picture and testimony of each missionary in the mission<3

We didn't expect a performance but they were prepared with a wonderful program.  Sister Esplin and Sister Matheson coordinated and wrote new words to  a beautiful drumming campfire song.  It was an impressive performance!  (Drumming lyrics below)

We have loved our time in Denmark with the beautiful green land and blue skies.  The members are faithful, kind and helpful in every way.  However our greatest joy has come by serving the Lord along-side these wonderful missionaries.  They arrive with enthusiasm and ready to change.  They have become master teachers, expert listeners and strive each day to follow the Lord's example.  They are bold, but not overbearing, and bring the message of the Plan of Salvation to those who will listen.  Their efforts bring many into the waters of baptism.  They are truly instruments in the hands of the Lord.  The Lord is leading His work in Denmark.
We will be forever grateful for this life changing opportunity.
We love the Denmark Copenhagen Mission.

Fest now spelled: K-U-L-T-U-R

This week was super abnormal! I feel like I usually say that, so this one, I guess, might actually be normal in comparison with all of the other actually abnormal weeks. But it still felt crazy!

Monday was pretty relaxed! It was officially transfer day! So Ældste Moulton and I reintroduced ourselves to each other! ;) Not actually, it was just like a normal P-day. We went knocking and talked with some fun people down on Provst Dreslers Vej. We're almost finished knocking that area, so that's exciting. I also got the chance to practice piano a little bit!! It was super fun!

Tuesday kind of got wrecked. We had planned on District Meeting on Wednesday, but it was changed to Tuesday at the last minute. So we did some contacting in the morning, met some really cool people that we're following up with, and then basically left for Aalborg. We had the Zone Leaders (Ældste Saviano and Ældste Arnold) introduce a Zone focus of Diligence (Flid) and then discussed the application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to us as missionaries. It was a pretty good District Meeting! Afterwards, Ældste Moulton and I tried getting home. All the trains stopped in Hjørring, so we had to take a bus from there, which took the rest of the evening and we got home late. So that was fun!

Wednesday was almost a repeat! We went contacting in the morning and had some interesting contacts. We saw a less active member on the street and got to talk with him, which was really good! And then we saw Jan (a previous member that comes to church occasionally) and Naja as well!! It was really fun! Then, after lunch, we hopped on a train and headed to Fredericia! We sat with Ældste Newton and Ældste Danielsen-Jensen, so it was pretty fun! We played Exploding Kittens on the way down too. That evening, we stayed in the Fredericia apartment with Ældste Gottfredson, Ældste Harding (trainee in Fredericia), Ældste Evans, and Ældste Jensen (new trainee in Esbjerg). It was super fun! We made a ton of pizzas and ate almost all of them!

Thursday kind of blended with Friday. Thursday was the first day of the Culture Course, which was taught in the Fredericia church building. Everyone from my MTC group (except Ældste Bailey) were there!!! It was super fun! The teacher was a Danish man named Emil (A-meal). He basically knew that we didn't need to learn any of the material and so it was just kind of a fun time for him to talk and make jokes with us! We discussed Democracy and Government on the first day, which is quite similar to the American government (from what we learned). We also had a ton of breaks! So between playing paper box games and drawing, we got to play some American football. And of course we were still in white shirts and ties! It was pretty hilarious! That evening, we were treated to an Asian buffet, where there were a ton of preteen kids as well. They thought we were pretty awesome because Ældste Angerhofer began to Russian dance, Ældste Haruch did the splits, Ældste Maready had a dance off, etc. We're pretty cool.

Friday was a about Family Law in Danmark, which included marriage, divorce, wills, etc. It was decently interesting. Emil kept making jokes about falling asleep, so that was entertaining. We played some more football and took some awesome pictures. Basically it was completely a party with all the missionaries there. Hence "Fest" (party) is now spelled "Kultur" (Culture). But it came to an end and we all got back on the trains to go home. We rode with the the other Elders and Sisters back to Aalborg (Ældste Newton, Ældste Danielsen-Jensen, Søster Matheson, and Søster Andrizzi) and then had to take a bus back to Frederikshavn. It was a super long travel day.

Saturday was the only normal day of the week!! We went to a lesson with a previous investigator who randomly texted us, who is named Zibar. He's super cool! He's been to church before and likes learning about Christ! He committed to read the Book of Mormon (in Arabic) daily too! We also had a stop by lesson with René! We were pretty bold teaching and he said he'd start reading Mormons Bog (again), so that'll be good! And then we also tried teaching Ezekiel, (from the Congo but only speaks Swahili, French, and some Danish) He loves the missionaries, so that was pretty fun!

Sunday came super quickly!! Church was great, as usual! Sadly, none of the people who said they'd come actually came... But we practiced a song after church that we're going to sing in Sacrament Meeting in two weeks. Then we ate with Else Jensen, who is Kurt's sister. She's super cool!! We wanted to go finding afterwards, but our bikes had a couple problems. So we ended up walking home in the rain after both bikes had the chain come off three times and Ældste Moulton's back tire just went flat all of a sudden. So the day went by a little faster than necessary. But it was a fun week!

My spiritual thought this week is from Alma 46:12 which is the Title of Liberty. Moroni takes a stand in that chapter and defines exactly what he is standing for. We discussed a little this past week why the things written on the Title of Liberty are truly important to us. I'd encourage everyone to read what it is Moroni writes and then also think about what you'd personally write on your own Title of Liberty! I really like that Moroni puts God first! It's amazing how everything else just seems to fall into place once the most important is our first priority. God truly does care about us and will bless us if we follow him!

Have a great week!
