"Chief of the Universe" after escaping Harry Potter!

This has been a crazy week and therefore merits a longer email. However, reality often takes what it wants and it will therefore be about the same length as normal if not shorter.

Monday was exciting! We headed down to Sønderborg where we did an Escape Room with the Elders there! They have a friend who owns an Escape Room company and lets them test the rooms out for free! The story was that we were wizarding students at a school called Rubilee's School of Wizardry (Harry Potter theme), but one of the two founders had disappeared a year earlier. Then some writing appeared on the wall and we had to figure out what happened to him, etc. It was super fun!! We also got the record for how fast we escaped, beating even their "professional" team. So yea, we're pretty cool.

Tuesday was splits down in Sønderborg, which was quite fun! I was with Ældste Kofford and we basically contacted and knocked all day! It was pretty sweet! We talked to quite a few fun people. We also had Coordination Meeting, which apparently includes playing Uno. Except the member's house was super dark so we couldn't see the difference between blue and green, so we had to use a flashlight if there was any doubt (which there often was). We also started playing Munchkin that evening, but we stopped because we had to get up early so we wanted to sleep sooner.

Wednesday was crazy! We woke up and headed out by 5:30 to drive all the way to Copenhagen (basically) for Mission Conference!! We had Elder De Feo (who spoke in last April's conference where his son called him "chief of the universe") visiting. It was super hyggeligt! We got to take some fun pictures with everyone in our group and talked with a ton of people!! It was super fun! We then hopped in the car and drove to Fredericia where we got on the train until we got home to Esbjerg at 10:20. It was a pretty long, fun day.

Thursday was less crazy. We had basically just finding. That morning, we had Benjamin Grabe out to contact with us! We had a couple lessons set up for him to come to, but they all cancelled... But we had some good conversations on the street, and he saw one of his good friends too! Later that day, we went to his house for an eating appointment, but we had apparently come an hour early! So we quickly biked off to knock where we met Junior, a Brazilian man who was excited to meet us! He said he would come to church as well, so we're excited to work with him! Dinner with the Bank Grabe family was pretty fun. It included a lot of teasing because we had come early, but the Sisters had come two hours early too!! So that was exciting!

Friday was pretty much normal. We had finding and Weekly Planning. It's starting to get dark at about 5-6, so it's pretty interesting knocking at night.

Saturday was also pretty normal. Finding and such. Not too much to say there.

Sunday was busy! I feel like Sundays are shorter. We had church and then took the sacrament to Erik Houborg and then basically had a couple hours to knock! We talked to some nice couple about his workshop, but they didn't want a Mormons Bog.

My spiritual thought comes partly from Elder De Feo. He talked a bit about how we are called to serve with specific Mission Presidents, and how they can personally help us. It was super good! In the same way, I believe we are "called" to serve with specific Stake Presidents, or Bishops, or Class/Quorum Presidents! There's always something we can learn from them who lead us. And in the same way, we can always learn something from those we lead. It's a pretty cool mutual relationship there!

Thanks for the support and I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween!! Be safe and watch out for spirits! (Except the Holy Spirit, try to find that more often. ;) )

All Mission Conference with Elder de Feo

All mission conference

The missionaries in the three zones in Denmark (Sydjylland, Nordjylland and Sjælland) reached their baptism goal! Therefore we celebrated with an all mission conference (except Iceland since it's sadly too far away) with Elder de Feo, instead of having three separate zone conferences. The missionaries were taught by the Mission president and his wife, the assistants and Elder de Feo. Some of the missionaries shared their musical talents and Sister Olsen made some great lagkage, as promised. They were also vaccinated. Elder Maready has taken some great photos:

Dreams Really Come True

This week has been wonderful!! So rather than delaying, we'll just get in with the details!!

Monday, transfer day! I traveled with Ældste Jensen to drop him off in Fredericia and sent him off towards Horsens as I received Ældste Tyler Bailey (from Bountiful, UT and came to Denmark at the same time as me)! We got home after some fun organizing public transportation. Then we, Elders, and Søster Livingston and Søster Routh, ate over with Steffan! He made us flæskesteg and it was pretty good!

Tuesday, we went out contacting which made us late to our appointment with David. But then he had already started up with work again, so we couldn't meet! I was pretty sad about that. Luckily, we set up an appointment for the next day. We then met with Snorri, who cautiously said that he knew Mormons Bog was true so we're planning to talk about baptism next time! We also had Coordination Meeting, which is always fun!

Wednesday was great! We met with David, who was super involved with the lesson! He explained a bit about his (nonexistent) religious background, but he really wants to be a better person and then took notes as we talked about prayer and how it can help him! It was awesome! We also stopped by a family where we talked to them for about a half hour and then explained Mormons Bog! It was definitely the most attentive an entire family has ever listened to me!

Thursday was District Council, which was fun! Then we went out knocking in Hjerting again. We found an American guy and then a man named Mike who was interested in reading in Mormons Bog! It was super cool!

Friday was where my dreams came true! I've been joking for literally years about it, and I finally have gone CURLING!! We have a friend named Nicklas who is on the Jylland team for curling, so he offered to teach us! Steffan was also there, and it was incredibly fun!! (I love curling!!) It was basically the best! After that, we did a lot of finding and then met up with Jonathon. We talked about Mormons Bog and then he fed us some Jewish New Year's food! It was really cool! He's consistently reading and is still interested, so we're meeting occasionally.

Saturday was basically just contacting, knocking, and doing Weekly Planning. We've been having a lot of fun contacts where we just get to know people, where they then take time to hear what we have to say. It's super fun!!

Sunday was crazy! We had Ward Conference, which meant that the Stake Leaders came, which included Thomas Bornemann (from Fredericia)!! So that was fun to see him. Then we went to Erik's to give him the sacrament. Then we went out contacting, which was also cool!!

I sadly don't have extra time to add a good spiritual thought. Just imagine that I made a cool curling analogy or read President Nelson's talk about the name of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Sometimes we just don't comprehend everything the first time, so we need reminders. Luckily, we believe in repentance!!

Have a wonderful week! Thanks for reading my short email!

- Curling is amazing!!

- The normal Germans that make it up to Esbjerg (Apparently know about our church and have been to Salt Lake!)
