Monday
included some biking around on our island, stopping by genbrugs (second hand
stores), and then contacting! We contacted along the street all the way to
Støget (in Frederiksberg) because the Flakes invited us to eat. Turns out, it
was Ældste Flake and Ældste Sorensen who took us to Dalle Valle because Søster
Flake had just gotten a root canal. It was pretty fun! They're cool. Then we
contacted home.
Tuesday
included some interesting stop by's and such. One man named Alf was taught by
the Sisters but then fell out of contact. So, we stopped by and he was super
nice! He said he simply had a hard time with so many new people, but he'd come
to church if he wanted to learn more.
Wednesday
was super fun! We taught Emil first. Our Anti-smoking tactics weren't working,
so we discussed the Book of Mormon, which he was happy about! He's been reading
quite frequently, which is really good! That evening, we had Ældste and Søster
Gleason out with us to visit Chavalee! And she cooked for us! And she invited her
daughter, PauQuan (?) who was super cool! She made soup, rice, fish (with
scales, fins, and bones. no heads though). It was really good! We taught only a
little bit about God being our Heavenly Father, but PauQuan took a Mormons Bog
for her 9 yr old religious daughter and also one for herself!! That was super
cool!!
Thursday was
District Council! We talked about Introspection. (Ældste Wright has very in
depth trainings!) After we got back, we went out knocking on some houses. We
talked to a cool guy named Thorbjørn (Thor-bear) who was sick but still talked
for a good 20 minutes. Then a lady named Lilli took a Mormons Bog and said
she'd try to come to church! She's very spiritual and said we could come back.
Friday
included meeting with Bob. We didn't teach anything new... It was mostly just
him ranting about random, semi-related topics. It was interesting to say the
least. But he's still reading two pages a day, so that's cool! We then quickly
biked against the wind to Dragør to meet with Stig! His other son, Lukas was
there. He's 21 and a part of the Royal Guard! It was pretty cool to talk with
them both. We didn't make too much headway, but Stig committed again to start
reading Mormons Bog. Their family really likes us at least.
Saturday was
Weekly Planning. We also had a lesson planned with our Romanian friend, Niclas,
but he couldn't come again.
Sunday was
interesting. Ældste Throckmorton was feeling sick. We went to church, which was
great! Then we came home and he took a nap while I studied. Then we went back
to the church to meet with a Polish, Catholic man named Oskar! He's super
cool!! He basically said if we were bored, call him and he'd come be bored with
us. He was interested in the Book of Mormon and said he'd read before meeting
next week! He loves God and is very open, so that's exciting! Then we took the
Metro (subway kind of thing) out to Frederiksberg to eat with Ældste and Søster
Wolfgramm. First, the Metro is super cool!! It's really fancy and just drives
underneath the heart of København!! Second, the Wolfgramms are awesome! They're
super happy and welcoming to us. It was just fun. Once we were back, Ældste
Throckmorton headed to bed early.
Through
reading the "Come Follow Me," I've been very interested about what
the focus is about. Initially, I thought it would be a very guided, detailed
study guide like the Seminary/Institute student manuals are written to be.
However, the first thing in each chapter says to prayerfully read the selected
New Testament chapters and write our impressions and thoughts. Then, and after
we do that ourselves, there are some study helps or ideas to make our personal
or family study more meaningful or learningful (if that's a word). I thought
that was a very clear emphasis placed upon the importance of personal testimony
and revelation. What is read in the Come Follow Me booklet may not be what
every person needs to hear. Instead, the Spirit is able to teach us as we
prayerfully read and search ourselves. Very cool focus, I thought!
I hope you
all have a great week!

Oh also, the
reason the Damecykel (Women Bike) duo
died is because we actually got normal men's bikes now. We've been cruising on
white women bikes for the past five weeks, and now we've gotten the bikes from
Esbjerg Elders! (My old bike! Wonder how they took care of those bikes over
there...) ;)
