We have the
exact same schedule every week, so we have to make things more interesting
somehow. So obviously when we get glowstick American flags we have to start a
tomahawk war. As of now Ældste Wright has locked them in an empty closet, but
we've had plenty of random duels and such. We also have flags pretty much
everywhere now! My Danish flag (that my family graciously sent me) is hanging
above our "really clean" desk. And we have a small one on our door
and in the hall for the other Danes.
We've been
playing soccer pretty consistently now too! Our game just yesterday was by far
our best as a Danish team. We connected well together and had quite a few
beautiful goals. It just always makes the day go better for me when it includes
soccer.
Danish is
coming along slowly, but surely. We've taught all our lessons without scripts
for the past two weeks. It's good! One lesson we had with Elise (Søster Reed)
we challenged her to be baptized and she said she already had been. Then we
were totally thrown off our Danish horse. We weren't expecting her to bring that
up because she's always so accepting of everything else. And another investigator
Jesper (Bror Bateman) passively Bible Bashed us, but I luckily saved the
situation with a testimony of Joseph Smith and told him that he could pray to
know for himself if Joseph was a true prophet. You can never go wrong with
bearing your testimony! But we also learned a lot more about both those
teachers! Bror Bateman plays at least seven instruments!! (piano, flute, piccalo,
saxophone, basoon, organ, and percussion) Also Søster Reed was nearly recruited
for the BYU woman's Rugby Team. That was a funny story! Bror Curtis is on a
vacation in Cali right now, so I'm sure we'll learn more about him soon.
Choir was
really fun this week too! We sang Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer. It was a
really high part for us tenors, but really fun to sing with all 1100 or so
choir members together. I'm not sure how accurate that number is, but that's
what they counted the first week we were here. It was really cool to feel the
power and love that the Savior has for us. I was very happy to be able to be a
part of it!
Now for the
title. Apparently Danes just combine words if it's all one thing. The longest
word we've found so far means unemployment benefit, which is
"arbejdsløshedsunderstøttelse." I feel like when a word is longer
than the alphabet, something needs to change. But apparently not! Which leads
me to the word of last week, because I forgot: familiehjemmaften! That's family
home evening all squished into one word with an added 'm' for whatever reason.
It's fun to say though! (famili-yem-aft-en) The word for this week is going to
be "ylmyghed" which means "humility." (ool-moo-li-hill)
Danish is fabulous though! Lots of rules that apply 80% of the time or words
that have genders that you just have to know without organization.
The MTC is a
hopping place though! I helped with the tours yesterday. I was able to see some
people I knew (Madsen Family) and talk to a ton of incredible people! I
challenged them all to take the Spirit they felt here and share it with
everyone outside the campus. I do the same for all of you! It doesn't take much
to help others feel the Spirit we are so blessed to have with us all the time!
Thanks for all your support! Farvell!

(P.S. If you
have a mission email list, put my email on it. I want to hear the amazing
things you guys have going on. I also figured this would be the easiest way to
reach everyone about that. Thanks!)
