Monday, we taught Guiseppe, which
was interesting. We mostly just told him about the Restoration and then he
explained that he was Buddhist and therefore didn't understand our faith. But
he made another appointment and then cancelled a few days after and dropped
us.
Tuesday, we contacted in Birkerød,
which is pretty interesting. There are a lot of older people here and a lot of
them have already talked to us! Then we knocked a bunch of rakkehuse on the way
to Farum, which was pretty fun. Then to end the night with a party, we ate with
former Ældste and Søster Ravn! Now they're Christian and Kate Ravn, but they're
still awesome! It was super fun! We're not sure how much the Sisters understood
through the conversation, but it was exciting! Kate had just celebrated her
birthday on Monday and Christian's birthday was on Wednesday, so we came just
in the middle of their celebrations!
Wednesday included some weird contacting
on the gågade. There were some frustrating people, as life usually gives us.
And then we headed to Zone Conference! We took the S-tog down to Lyngby and
then biked to Maglegårds Alle. It was a good Conference focused on increased
obedience. We also had some of the new Stake Presidency come and speak with us.
On our bike ride home, it started to hail a bit! But it was pretty chill. (That
was punny.)
Thursday included a lesson with
Henrik! He's an elderly, quiet man who we simply set an appointment with in the
library. And he came! He's "Culturally Christian" (as most Danes) but
he was willing to commit to read in Mormons Bog! We have another lesson with
him this coming Tuesday at his house. We'll see how it turns out! Other than
that, we had a quick trip down to Frederiksberg where I talked with Vicki in
the Retail Center. That was fun! Then we knocked in Birkerød.
Friday included a surprise snow
storm! It started, luckily, right after we arrived home from our run. But then
it was pretty brisk and clear the rest of the day. We (or more Ældste Walton)
helped fix up a bike for a member named Kira. She's really cool! She has some
interesting stories about growing up in a Communistic family... And then we
went to celebrate Mei's Birthday!!! Mei was baptized just a couple months ago
and loves the missionaries! It was super fun! The Hillerød Sisters came along
as well and we had lunch and taught her the Restoration as a Newly Baptized
lesson! We also did Weekly Planning that evening.
Saturday was splits! I went out to
Taastrup with Ældste Anderson, which was super fun! We went out contacting and
knocking! We contacted on the Albertslund gågade, which grew to include some
political activists and Jehovah's Witnesses along with us. That was exciting.
(Tip:If someone ever tries to sell you something, just turn it into a
missionary contact and they get really confused! It's genius!) I also bought
Ældste Anderson his first kajkage! Then we knocked out in Ishøj, which was
really fun!
Sunday was busy! We had church, and
sadly the sisters were too sick to leave their apartment. But I got to
translate for Sacrament Meeting, so that was exciting! An American family
visiting from Germany came, which was fun. After church, we biked out to an
appointment in Farum, which was burned so we knocked there instead! Then we
biked back to Birkerød and took the train to Allerød (again) to eat at Mei's
house (again) with the Sisters (again)! She made four chinese dishes and an
amazing cake! It was amazing food! She's so awesome! I also got some great
pictures with her in matching "Happy Birthday" glasses! To end the
night, we fit in as many of our studies as we could. It was a pretty good, busy
birthday! I was also called and sang to by quite a few companionships, including
President and Sister Olsen! It was fun!
Spiritually thinking: Easter is
awesome! It's a day of reflection of how powerful Christ's Atonement and
Resurrection truly is! One of the talks in Sacrament meeting was about Hosanna,
Palm Sunday, and Christ's coming to Jerusalem. It was very focused on how we
are able to shout Hosanna as we take the sacrament every week! It was
beautiful! We have the opportunity to use the Atonement every day and be
cleansed an infinite amount if only we will repent! It's amazing, and it's
because of Him!
Have a great week!! Remember Him,
especially on Easter!
