Happy Jesus Birthday!

The Most Hyggeligt Time of the Year, by far! Sadly deserves a longer update, but I don't have more time so bear with me.

Monday was Juleaften. It was basically the easiest P-day because we didn't have many options to do anything. So we had some Nerf wars in the church, emailed, and ate German Pancakes. Then we went to Vor Frelsers Kirke which is a Danske FolkeKirke for a Julegudstjeneste. It was pretty fun! Lots of songs and people, one of which is not usually in Danish churches. Then we were with the Kjær family! Lars, Marianne, Liz (Marianne's mom) along with Nicklas (RM son), Louise, Mishelle, and Natasha. We played Monopoly Deck, which I lost. Then we ate some amazing Danish Christmas food, which is always good. Then we read the Christmas story, listened to Christmas hymns, and then they opened presents!! They gave Ældste Bailey and I some shampoo and deodorant, which was very nice of them. Liz also gave us 200 dkk (which we'll probably be using to buy Simon a bike). It was really fun to hang out with them!
Tuesday was crazy!! Christmas was awesome though! We started off by having Personal study. Then we headed to Karen Kristensen's to have a lunch with some cool Asylem seekers. We got to play with some puppies that Karen's daughter has. That was fun! We played a game to see who could tear the longest, connected paper strip out of one piece of paper. (Would recommend!) It was really fun! After, Karen drove us to the church to eat with Johnes Laine. He had gone all out with decorations and food!! It was honestly scary how much food we had eaten already. Then he gave us food to take home along with enough sugar to kill a horse. But we got to talk with our families! It was really fun! Luckily, with any technical difficulties (not many for me) everyone was able to call. Ældste Bailey and I then had to figure out how to ride the bus home afterwards.

Wednesday was a normal day, pretty much. Technically it's Anden Juledag (Second Christmas Day). We went out contacting and knocking. We had some good conversations, so that was good! That evening, we ate with Jens Ole Byskov! He's super cool! We also had Jonas (the Sisters are teaching him), and he's super cool too! It was a hyggeligt evening!

Thursday was good. We had District Council. We also taught Constantin! There was a short version of Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration in Romanian, which was quite helpful, but not the best translation. After watching that, we explained more about Joseph Smith. It was a really good lesson! They're sad that we're leaving (next week), but are totally fine with the Sisters taking over teaching!

Friday was interesting. We went finding. Then the Sisters needed some help (or just a "third man") at their friend, Mostafa's house. So we went and ate over there. He's from Iran and really likes Jesus, but can't really speak Danish, so it's slow going with him.

Saturday was Weekly Planning! We also went out finding, which is always exciting. Not sure if it was that day, but we talked with a man named Henrik who was basically paranoid about sinning. We talked on the street for over an hour. It was honestly really fun talking with him. He had started that day to quite smoking, and decided to stop gambling after we talked with him as well. He was literally scared of religion, but we said some things that he really liked and helped him.

Sunday was pretty fun. We went to church, which is awesome! We also had a fællesspisning afterwards! That was pretty fun! We organized a Ping Pong Tournament this coming Tuesday, so that'll be fun! We also took the sacrament to Erik, which is always fun!

As a Spiritual Thought, go watch Bible videos! Sorry, I don't have time to write more! Have to go to an eating appointment for New Year's Eve!! Have a wonderful New Years! Be safe! Return with Honor!

Christmas pictures from Marianne Kjaer

We received an email today from Marianne Kjaer, who had the missionaries over on Christmas Eve. (Marianne and her mom, Liz, gave Ældste Bailey and Jepsen cards and Danish crowns. The plan is to use the money to get Simon Lupo a bike.) How blessed the missionaries are to know kind Danes who feed them and show them love!

Hi
Just want to tell you we really enjoyed having Elder Jepsen over on Christmas evening. My mom who isn’t a member of the church has said several times that she loved being together with the elders and she thinks they are very nice. Thank you that we can have Elder Jepsen here.
Love
Marianne
