Voted off the Christmas Island

Well, it's official. We lost the game of King of the Bjerg- the Esbjerg, to be specific. This week was pretty weird, but is basically summed up in the happenings of Tuesday.

Monday was pretty relaxed. We didn't have any crazy plans. We basically emailed, bought food, and then sent some packages home. Other than that, we hygged os (which is a danish way of saying we basically did nothing and just enjoyed it). Then we went out knocking in Ådalsvænget. T'was good.

Tuesday happened. It was a normal day. We went contacting and out knocking. As we were out knocking some rakkehuser, President Olsen called us. He explained that the Esbjerg Elders area was going to be closing at the end of the transfer (January 6th), so we are to give the people we're working with to the Sister missionaries so they can carry on the banner. After that, we had to head to an eating appointment at the church. Karen Kristensen made us food, but was teaching seminary that evening. So we got to eat with Silas and Shane! It was exciting. One thing lead to another and Ældste Bailey switched coats with Shane. Such is missionary life. (We also wrote a song about Pant, which is a Danish system of recycling.)

Wednesday was District Council! The Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders came as well. They talked about letting go of things we can't control and not worrying about them. It was really good! We wrote down things we were worried about and tried burning the papers, but we ran out of matches so they ended up being flushed down the toilet. Afterwards, I got to go contacting with Ældste Schaffer for a bit! It was really fun! I felt very refreshed and happy about the contacts. We also had UV that evening, which was a pakkeleg! (pack-a-lie=White Elephant-ish game) It was fun! I got some "Seriously Good Mayonaise" which is actually super good! The young adults were quite dissapointed that we're leaving

Thursday was basically a finding day. We were out contacting and then knocking. We had a flaky appointment with a man, but he wasn't home so we left a card. Not much else to say about the day.

Friday was exciting! We headed back out to Ådalsvænget for a lady named Camilla, but she wasn't home. So we stopped by the man from Thursday and the card was still there. But he was home, so we gave him a Mormons Bog! We also had a lesson with Constantin. We were able to connect him with Dore, the Romanian member, which was really cool! It wasn't much of a new lesson, but Dore was able to explain some things we'd taught while we talked a bit with Simon. Simon said that if he had a bike of his own, he would come to church every week. He's basically the coolest! Constantin's cousin was also there and had some good questions. It'll be really good for Constantin to have someone to talk with in Romanian. After that, we went caroling with the Sisters. We visited some less active members and people we're teaching. Max Gram (I helped him move back with Ældste Jensen) was really happy to have us come and put us on Facebook. We also sang for Jonna as well as Constantin's family. It was pretty hyggeligt!

Saturday was a long day. We had Weekly Planning, and then we had to go grocery shopping because everything is closed on the 24th. We then had some good knocking time out on Ulvevej, which is a fancy opgange area.

Sunday was a fun day. We had our Julegudstjeneste, or Christmas Sacrament Meeting. Sadly, Constantin's family was down in Germany visiting his brother. We also took the Sacrament to Erik, which was fun! We had some time to go knocking, which didn't result in too much. Then we went to the Meline Family for dinner and a candy pakkeleg! It was really fun!

As a spiritual thought, read the Christmas story! Truly, Christ has done everything for you. Not only was He born for you, He died for you, and He lives to help you today. That is the meaning of Christmas.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!
